Ultra X

The 2022 ULTRA X is the ultimate high-altitude challenge within the legendary Drakensberg Mountains. This ULTRA X will push athletes to endure some of SA’s toughest routes in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Africa. This event is a fully inclusive package/ athletes will be presented with 2 Race distances and an option to do it in a Team or Individually. ULTRA X ( 3.2km Swim / 4km Run / 145km Cycle / 19km Trail Run) ULTRA Lite (1.6km Swim / 4km Run / 95km Cycle / 12km Trail Run) The Event entry includes 2 nights full board accommodation, all meals, loaded goodie bags with race apparel as well as fully equipped Aid stations along the race routes. The whole family is invited to join the competitors for this epic weekend away in the Drakensberg. The event falls just within the School holidays, making it the perfect weekend away for the family. Athletes and their families will be looked after at the exclusive and beautiful Champagne Sports Resort. The event is open to families and the kids who can support the athletes along the route. There will be race registration and race briefing on Friday evening and then Prize Giving on Saturday evening. Follow vehicle: Family Follow / Support Vehicles are suggested for each ULTRA X athlete for the 145km bike route. Each entrant is encouraged to have a supporting follow vehicle on the 145km bike route. Each vehicle will get an Official Vehicle Permit to be on the bike course. Athletes can make use of hydration, food and other support while out on the bike and run course. The event is exclusively limited to 100 competitors, giving each competitor a personal and intimate connection with this exclusive event.
